Urgent Call
to Action Against the WTO!
Come to Seattle! November 30th through December 3rd, the World Trade
Organization is holding their third "ministerial conference" in Seattle,
Washington. An estimated number of up to 50,000 protesters will meet in
Seattle for one of the biggest protests in radical politics of the century.
We would like to announce that YFIS
has plans to be an active participant in this incredible event.!
Mexican Student Strikers Under
Threat!
The 6 month long student strike to protest increased student fees at
the UNAM in Mexico is
being violently attacked by the authorities and hired thugs. Some strikers
have been kidnapped
and savagely beaten, and one of our comrades has been accused of making
death threats to the thugs and could be sent to prison. This is of
course a lie fabricated by the authorities to destabilize the movement.
We need to mobilize all our resources on an international scale to condemn
these actions, and bring a successful end to the strike. (October 11, 1999)
